Why Hire Us?
WARNING: The following list contains information that goes against some Disc Jockey's core philosophy, i.e.
you will see the exact opposite opinions on other Disc Jockey websites. We look at these as our STRENGTHS,
and they represent the main differences between TERK Entertainment and everyone else.
We will NOT overuse the Microphone
Many DJ's have the term "active participation" on their websites, but unfortunetly this term is taken to the extreme at many
events. It is our view that your event is being thrown for a reason, and the focus of the crowd should be on the music,
not the DJ. It's up to our clients how much participation they would like from their DJ, and in most cases, they don't want their
DJ speaking before and after every song. There is a way to be charming and likeable while also participating with the crowd,
and our DJ's are experienced at achieving that balance, without overusing the microphone.
We are a Small Business:
We are NOT one of the big DJ conglomerates, and while we have contacts at numerous facilities and other vendors,
including caterers, photographers, florists, and event planners, these are not part of our core business.
We are Disc Jockeys, and we're good at what we do, and our prices are significantly
less than the larger DJ companies. Also, our only form of "pay" advertising is this website, which we designed and coded
ourselves, so most of our business comes from referrals.
The DO NOT PLAY List:
Have you ever been on the dancefloor, moving to one of your favorite tunes, and then it's followed by a song that you
can't stand? It was probably requested by one of your guests, and since most DJ's will attempt to honor as many requests as possible,
there you are, unhappy with what is transpiring on the dancefloor.
Along with the typical "Request List", we also feature a DO NOT PLAY list.
Many of our clients do not want to hear songs such as the Electric Slide, the YMCA, the Macarena, Hot Hot Hot, It's Raining Men,
the Chicken Dance, or even anything by Michael Bolton or Celine Dion, so they prepare a list of songs that, NO MATTER
WHAT, will not be played at their event. On the other hand, songs such as the ones mentioned above might be something you look
forward to, so they may be on your REQUEST LIST. It's up to you, because after all, it's your event!
Over our many years of DJ'ing, our niche' market has developed because of these items, so if you agree with this philosophy,
please fill out a contact form for more information. Also, if you'd like to speak to one of our recent
clients as references, we'd be happy to get you in contact with them.
